Starkey Ranch K-8’s Drama Program, part of the school’s Academy for the Arts, inspires creativity and confidence through hands-on theater experiences. Students explore the art of performance, storytelling, and collaboration as they bring characters and stories to life on stage.

The Nutcracker invites audiences to experience the magic of this beloved holiday tale through the imagination and talent of the school’s young performers. This enchanting production follows Clara, a young girl who receives a Nutcracker doll at her family’s festive Christmas Eve party. When the clock strikes midnight, Clara is swept into a fantastical adventure where toy soldiers battle the fearsome Mouse King, and her Nutcracker transforms into a brave prince. Together, they journey through a sparkling snow-covered forest and into the whimsical Land of Sweets, ruled by the radiant Sugar Plum Fairy.

This abridged adaptation captures all the charm, beauty, and timeless magic of The Nutcracker while celebrating the creativity, collaboration, and spirit of the students at Starkey Ranch K-8.
